Staff Nurse
Job Description
1. Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records for the patients in your ward. E.g. taking nursing history, summarize data & statistic nursing diagnosis/ patient care needs.
2. Monitor, record and promptly report symptoms and changes in patient’s conditions to the concerned authority.
3. Record patient’s medical information and vital signs.
4. Perform admission, discharge or transfer procedures and assist others with patient’s activities & care
5. Executes physician’s order for all the assigned patient’s safety & properly administer medication treatments.
6. Consult and coordinate with Medical Team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
7. Accurately record & report all incidents.
8. To supervise the cleanliness of assigned area of the ward.
9. Executes orders, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s condition given by consultants.
10. Monitor & Record all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
11. Prepare patients for & assist them in examinations and treatments.
12. Take a detailed clinical round of the patients to ensure that proper nursing care is provided.
13. Sponging/ Bed Bath to all indoor patients on daily basis irrespective of the gender.
14. Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensure that stock of supplies are maintained.
15. To ensure that they carry out the routine check at each handover, ensuring that all equipment are in working order.
16. To ensure that all items used for patients & residents inclusive of medications & surgical supplies are duly recorded & charged.
17. Collect pathological samples of the indoor patients to conduct specified laboratory tests & also label each specimen properly.
18. Direct and coordinate infection control programs, advising and consulting with specified personnel about necessary precautions.
19. To be a part of the infection control team and maintain records relating to it.
20. Provide or arrange for training/instruction of auxiliary personnel or students.
21. Engage in research activities run by the institute, related to nursing.
22. They are to attend all the Training sessions & meetings irrespective of their duty being there or not.
23. They have to perform their duties & provide patient care as per the NABH protocols.
24. During the Personnel/Staff crisis, extra duty must be performed.
25. Any other work as & when required.
